Istanbul Airport (IST)
Since 29 October 2018, public buses (New Airport Transit Bus) run from and to the airport. Bus transportation is operated by HAVAIST and IETT, both bus providers are owned by Otobüs AS. In total, 150 buses running every day between Istanbul New Airport and the European and Asian part of Istanbul, there are 19 routes. Travel time is 30 to 90 minutes, depending on your destination. The bus services with the highest frequency are Istanbul Airport – Bakırkoy (every 10 min, 18 TL) and Istanbul Airport – Yenikapı-Sirkeci (every 11 min, 18 TL). The longest route is Istanbul Airport – Pendik, a district in the eastern part of Istanbul (Asia).
Bus tickets: Bus tickets cost 12 TL (2 euros) to 30 TL (5 euros) for adults, children up to 5 years travel for free. Every passenger can take advantage of free WiFi, USB connections and LCD touchscreens during the bus journey. Please consult website Istanbul Airport for more information. Currently, the airport express bus H-2 to metro station Sisli-Mecidiyekoy is the most popular bus route from Istanbul New Airport, the price of a ticket is 16 TL. At Sisli-Mecidiyekoy you can transfer to metro line M2.
Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW)
Istanbul’s other airport is Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW) on the Asian side of the Bosphorus, about 55 km (34 miles) east of Atatürk International Airport (IST).
There is no non-stop airport bus service between Sabiha Gökçen Airport and Taksim Square. You can also reach M4 metro by bus (E10, KM20 or KM22) and transfer to marmaray at the Ayrılık Çeşmesi Station.
